Mponda was born in Africa and went from never seeing his mother to becoming a refugee and finally getting rescued by Red Cross and moving to Canada at young age. He went from being bullied at school and not speaking a word of English to winning a silver medal in boxing for Canada at the winter games and he also won the CBC searchlight competition in 2016… His mission is to “unite people with music and empower them through his stories.”
