On a Sunday at Eleven follows the Sunday routine of a young Black ballerina, 7-year-old Angel.
Angel arrives at ballet class to discover she is the only Black girl in her class. Feeling isolated, Angel
escapes to a dream world where Black ballerinas with elaborate Black hairstyles dance around her, in this jubilant celebration of Black women’s unique beauty.
Alicia Harris
Alicia K. Harris is an award-winning filmmaker from Scarborough, ON, best known for her Oscar-qualified short Pick, which won Best Live Action Short at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards. Her other work includes Only Light Will Touch Us, music videos for Koffee and Jessie Reyez, and the Amazon series Beyond Black Beauty. Alicia is a seven-time CSA nominee and 2020 winner, as well as the 2024 RBC Emerging Artist Award and 2021 Reelworld Trailblazer Award recipient. Known for her poetic visual style, her films celebrate Black beauty, truth, and spirituality.
